ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions collaborates with Vi to transition to secure RFID solutions
Vi owns and operates 10 luxury continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) across the United States. With more than 30 years of experience as the owner/operator of residential communities for older adults, Vi has continued to work toward providing quality environments, services and programs to enrich the lives of those they serve.
With 10 CCRCs throughout the United States, Vi traditionally operated its luxury communities as open campuses. The company, looking to offer an added layer of security and convenience for its residents and team, began exploring the process of transitioning to a total secure solution. As part of their commitment to safety and security, Vi knew they needed an access control system that would integrate into their existing platform and allow each community the ability to respond quickly in the event of an outside threat, while also being cost effective and operationally convenient.
After careful consideration and research into access control vendors, Vi selected ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions for its adaptive technology that offered the ability to implement a state-of-the-art system on their existing doors.
To bring the vision of a secure campus to life, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions created a hybrid solution consisting of its VingCard Signature and Classic RFID technologies with Elevator controls, back of house solutions, RFID Encoder and Updater that was implemented across Vi’s communities. This proved to be the perfect solution for Vi as it integrated with its existing software and provided the desired level of security. Additionally, the use of VingCard Signature and Classic locks offers the flexibility to validate and update keys digitally, saving operations time and money. The system also allows the flexibility to integrate with other providers and evolve with changes and market demands.
Aside from operational efficiencies, the integration of ASSA ABLOY’S access control solutions delivers Vi the ability to enter lockdown mode at a moment’s notice in the rare event of a threat.
